The beauty of the technological era lies in the abundant and relevant knowledge available to achieve our goals.
The challenge, however, is in mustering the courage to apply this knowledge to our lives and pursue those aspirations.
Mirrors into a Great Future
We can learn immensely from a range of influential figures. From neuroscience professors like Andrew Huberman, who elucidate the complexities of the brain, to podcasters such as Joe Rogan, who introduces us to world-leading experts on myriad topics, enhancing our understanding of reality.
Courses, podcasts, books, and videos serve as rich information sources. Given their quality and abundance online, theoretically, we should have already attained our goals and aspirations, or at least not be struggling for financial survival.
Yet, despite this wealth of knowledge, a vast number of people still grapple with poverty and mental health issues.
The answers are there, but they don't resonate with everyone.
The Black Hole in Your Resolve
When I embarked on my journey to earn a living online, I stumbled repeatedly.
I chose digital marketing and spent about 2-3 years learning, experimenting, and consistently failing to acquire clients.
After two years, I began to doubt my choice of digital marketing as a career and considered giving up.
My resolve was fragile. Despite numerous motivational videos, courses, and books, I couldn't shake my doubts about succeeding online.
The turning point was accepting my humble circumstances and passionately believing in my vision.
Less than a year later, I specialized in content writing within the psychology niche, started a blog on Medium, wrote nearly 100 articles, and secured my first client on Upwork.
It took me 2.5 years of no palpable results to finally see any. If I had quit right when my doubts started kicking in, I would have never seen the sight that was found at the edges of my struggles.
Burn the Old and Grow Anew
Everyone aspires to change at the beginning of the year. However, only a small number of people go through the trials and tribulations that come with trying to fulfill those aspirations.
The main reason lies in the hole within your resolve. When you set out those beautiful goals at the beginning of 2024, you have to be truly honest with what you want and courageous enough to believe it. The apparent courage of others stems from their achievements, as completing goals strengthens self-esteem.
But what if your goals lead you into uncharted territory—a new field, hobby, job, or adventure?
Start by believing.
You might doubt the feasibility of your dreams, but you must focus on your life's vision.
Once you believe, act decisively. These actions create momentum and confidence, propelling you toward your goals.
Your dream might evolve, and the journey to get there might take unexpected forms, but as long as you keep moving, you will have the best shot at seeing the complete version of your aspirations.
In your relentless pursuit, confront your demons—the entrenched neural pathways shaping your current behavior.
Embracing change involves battling immense resistance. Overcoming this resistance and acting despite its presence allows you to burn your old self and embrace a new one that will be built on the achievements that are to come.
